Easter Treats for friends

We made these little treats for Madison's teacher and bus driver. Very easy yet, so festive!! Take a jar and place M&M at the bottom. Place the Peeps around in a circle and then use a filler candy in the middle to help keep the peeps propped up. I used Kit Kat and Kisses to fill it up. I did a fabric cover for the lid using a hot glue stick. Made a note and hot glued that to the side and within 10 minutes...you are done.

Cinderella

When Madison was younger...not too much younger than she is now, she used to say "Cinderellalalala" She really liked to stretch out that last lalalala :) Anyway. I was flipping through Pottery Barn Kids and decided to go online to see what had hit their clearance racks. I came across a piece of art that was marked down to $149. It was cute. Looked pretty simple and easy enough for me to make. So, I got some things, sat down and about an hour and a half later...this was the finished product. I'm tickled. Madison LOVES it. I have a book called "The Little Big Book of Moms". I love the art and stories in that book. I've even thought about framing some of the art in there...but maybe I can turn to trying to duplicate some of it?? Anyway...the top three photos are the ones that I painted. The last one is from which I got my "inspiration". :)
**I do think I will add some more flowers but 3-D flower embellishments...just to give it a little more**

Cards

So, I've just started really experimenting with my new Cricut and I made two cards yesterday. It took a little planning since I was using different cartridges, and different colored sheets of paper but I made two cards in a matter of about 30 minutes...and that was the completed cards and matching envelopes. One for my Cousin who is in boot camp and the other for my step-dad who's birthday is Sunday.

I do need to work a little one making sure my lines are straight...oops. But other than  that, I am feeling more and more comfortable with the new toy!

Name Cards - Table settings

Mom is attending some Valentines Day thing on Saturday night. They get to decorate their own tables and she is using the chocolate fountain I gave her last year to dip strawberries and whatnot in (as their centerpiece) and then who knows what else. But, I volunteered to make their place cards for the guests at her table...this was the final product. (see below). I will also note for Jim's sake....that this would have been soooo much easier if I had the Cricut ... available at the local scrapbooking store....hint, hint, wink, wink (remember Mother's Day and my b-day are around the corner!) :)

Our Hands - Our Hearts

We made this little picture using our hands, a little paint and some background paper. (and don't forget the frame) :) Want to make one? Just make your hands into a heart shape. Easier to do one hand at a time. Little hands need lots of help. Let dry and add what ever you feel fit.

Valentine's Day

Wow...hard to believe it is already Febuary and that we are getting even closer to Valentines Day! Now, I have to admit, I'm not one of those girls who gets all excited about this day. Mostly, I enjoy it because the kids are into it. But, for me, I prefer being told I love you EVERY day of the year and flowers on a day when I least expect it and not when it is expected! Know what I mean?
I did order Madison a sweet little heart watch from Gymboree. She is learning time and this will give her some incentive to figure it out.

Here are cupcakes we made a year ago for Madison's class.

Christmas Cards

I hold on to everything...at least everything that means something to me. Each year I get a collection of cards from friends. Some with photos, some with stories but all with memories and love. I saw on a friends blog recently that she was trying to find something to do with her cards and I thought - hmmm...maybe I should do something to. Each year they just get put into a drawer or put lose into a scrapbook of that year. Seems like they should be displayed somehow. So, I put them in their very own scrapbook - a Christmas book. And like my friend is doing, I hope to send someone a note (someone whom I've recieved a card from). Just to let them know I'm thinking of them. Sometimes the littlest things like that can make a person's whole day!

Puppets

These are cute little puppets we made which came from the Martha Stewart crafts. You can find her crafts in just about any chain craft store (including Walmart now). Very easy to make and hours of fun afterwards!

Some Past Baking

I guess Baking falls in the category of crafts right??? If not...oh well. I will just post a few of our favorite cookie and cake decorating days. I wish I took photos each time...cause trust me, I've got a few future Food Netword Stars on my hands!

Getting started

For those of you who know me...you know that our home revolves around crafts. Some easy...some that want to make you pull your hair out. I thought it would be fun to post our crafts that we make for others to try out....on those special cold, hot or just rainy days. We all know how bored we all can become. Hopefully, we'll find some ways to get past that boredom! :)
